Classical Ballet in Oslo
Ballet originated during the Italian Renaissance in the 15th century. However, in Norway, it started in the 20th century. Norway founded its first national ballet as late as 1958. As there were few ballet performances in the start-up phase, ballet schools had a very important role for the Norwegian ballet.
